Hi!

I get drop outs with my wireless keyboard and mouse with my "semi-HTPC".

The Specs:
CPU: AMD A6 6400k
GPU: GTX 650
Motherboard: can't remember exact mobo atm but it's a mATX FM2+ Asus board.
"cheap" 4GB DDR3 RAM
A rather old 300W Delta PSU.

This happens when gaming and happens both on Star Wars Battlefront and Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens (The games me and my girlfriend play on it). Using a wired gamepad on Lego SW works so I guess it's something to do with the wireless somehow. Have not tried wired keyboard but I could try just to rule that out as well, if needed.

Since I play from the couch I need it to be wireless. I even bought a new Logitech keyboard+mouse but the issue was still there. The wireless is supposed to have a 10m range and I sit maybe at most 3m away from the computer. I suspected the front usb panel to be crappy but the same issue appeared with using the back usb ports.

Could the PSU be the culprit, or can it be something else? I think I'm dangerously close to the PSU's limits and I'm planning on upgrading to some budget 500W PSU to be safe.

Thanks in advance

@PC-4LIFE: The issue appears as a dropping out effect, or a kind of "input freeze". The inputs do not get processed when it catches up. Maybe that can be called a kind of lag? The actual games doesn't freeze. Should I buy another 4GB RAM stick and see if that fixes things?

I think you should. When gaming (depending on the game) you use a lot of RAM.

I upgraded the RAM to a total of 8GB and it was the problem it seems because I now get no problem with the wireless keyboard and mouse while playing Star Wars Battlefront. I also realised that the PC actually had a EVGA 500W PSU, not a cheap old Delta (that one was in another machine).

That's great!
