USB not supporting

I buyed a WD 1TB my passport ultra and the problem i am facing that whenever i am attaching it to my Sony LED it is not showing and it says" USb not recognized, i convert the Hard drive from NTFS to xFAT system and formatted it but the problem remains the same. Please tell me what to do?

That is really unpleasant. :(

What are the file formats supported by your TV? You can check that out in the manual. You can try to reformat the drive to FAT32 as well.
Make sure there's not maximum storage capacity limitation. Some TVs do have that. Once again, you can check that out in the TV's manual.

Also, you can go to the TV's manufacturer website and make sure all the drivers are up to date.

It would not hurt to attach the drive to another USB port with a different USB cable.

The drive is properly recognized by your computer right?
