hello. I have an AMD-FX 8370 with 8 cores.
Windows is only using 4 and giving me a bad performance!
GPU-Z says 4 cores, 4 threads.
Windows msconfig says 4 cores.
Help? how do I activate 8 cores?

nope he truly has only 4 core CPU. AMD FX series one core is worth half a real core so 8 core CPU it in reality 4 core CPU

BUT CPU-Z will show an FX as 8 cores 8 threads. I just checked MINE. I have an 8320. If he has an 8370 he should see 8 and 8 on CPU-Z. Yes the FX has 4 core clusters but it should be treated like 8 if correctly configured.

Guys, should I reinstall windows? the thing is I upgraded from a 4 core to an 8 core maybe windows just doesnt get it.
But im scared, if I reinstall windows (which takes ALOT of time), it still wont change. because as you can see in the image I will attach. Device manager detetcs 8 Processors.

not really you realisticaly have only 4 cores. An AMD 8-core FX (or other Bulldozer/Piledriver/Steamroller/Excavator-architecture) processor actually does have 8 integer processor cores. However, AMD puts pairs of cores into modules, each of which has several shared resources, including an L1 instruction cache, L2 cache, and (relatively large) floating-point unit. As such, an AMD 8-core processor of this type has 4 FPUs while intels 8 core has 8 FPUs

not sure myself:D

Try this two things:
1.) Go to Device Manager > Processors tab > Right click CPU and click scan for hardware changes.
2.) Go to run>msconfig>boot>advanced options>unchecked the number of processors box
