Hello,

Apologies for seeking help from a community I have not contributed too much yet!

However, I was hoping to get some advice on a nas I'm thinking of buying.

I want a nas so I can have a central point as to 1) store photos from our phones, taking the weight off their memory. 2) store films/TV we can then watch off a ps4/TV/roku box without having to have a PC on constantly running Plex.

There is only two users.

Will this do the job effectively? or is there a similar one at a similar price that is better ? I chose 6tb (mirrored down to 3tb) but 4tb would be fine.

Thank you for all your help.

I think it could. I don't have any direct experience with that brand.

Just remember that RAID is not an all covering protection. Anything that is precious should not exist ONLY on that NAS. Photos and videos need an additional backup location. That might mean a USB drive connected to the NAS or a cloud backup solution. Don't assume you can't lose data because of RAID1.

Thank you! Well currently the only place my photos and videos are on us Facebook, which I want to change!

So I should be able to stream media off this and upload files over wi-fi?

Also, can you get a nas to have a nice UI like Plex, or does it need to just be folders (Which is fine!)

Thanks again! Well I streamed over plex using WiFi fine. if the nas is plugged into the router, then streaming to say a ps4, will this not offer similar performance? The media element is probably half the draw for me!
