Does anyone think it is worth upgrading from a Athlon X2 370K to a AMD A10-7890K X4?

I made a mistake picking my CPU (AMD) about a year or so ago and I keep having problems running games as well as streaming on twitch. I was thinking of just getting a whole new machine but now I am considering upgrading the CPU I have to avoid a larger cost.. but I don't want to be back in the same boat after the upgrade. My knowledge is limited on this.

Would I see a large improvement?

I sort of do but I have stopped for a fair while as certain games are just lagging and glitching too much to be fun to play/view. If I went down the non-upgrade path I would switch over to intel and get myself a Intel i7-6700k 4GHz Quad Core.

ah right try reducing some in game settings. if you plan to go for intel 6th gen then i5 are good enough as games these days don't run over quad core cpus mostly dual cores. the i7-6700k is an unlocked version meaning you can overclock this cpu

Yep, I have adjusted all the settings - set them to the lowest levels. It isn't really remedying things a great deal sadly. The idea of getting the i7 is that it will last me a good few years and I wont encounter these problems for a while.

ah i see yea to no effect then prob is is best interest in upgrading. up to yourself what cpu to get i5 and i7 will do you for a good 5+ years even more. if you were to get a new cpu the i7-6700k then you would need a new mobo as it is socket type lga1151 also consider ram ddr4 as the new mobo support only ddr4 and ddr3 low volt

I was planning to sell the PC I have now and get a completely new PC. It seem to be the best option but it has a hefty price. Thanks for the info though
