Hi,
I'm looking after some components and was wondering if you guys can tell me if the components will perform ok.
The components are:
MB: MSI P41T-C31
RAM: 8GB DDR2 800MHz
CPU: INTEL XEON E5450(with mod for the 775 socket)
PSU: CORSAIR VS450
GPU: NVIDIA GTX750 TI PALIT STORMX 2GB GDDR5

Thank you !

Solution
Ah, Romania.

Unfortunately your aspirations would be far fetched/over stretched since the LGA775 platform is well over 7 generations behind meaning anything you throw at it with today's demanding titles, the system will crawl to either a halt or just refuse to work. CPU wise, if you can get a hold of a Q9550 for dirt cheap, then drop it into the board you own.

You could go for this unit and later hold onto it while you change/upgrade the parts.

To lead onto another question, are the parts second hand or brand new?

You're welcome though just helping ;)

Change the PSU. It's nothing but an expensive paper weight. What sort of units do you have access to? If you're going to use the system for the interim period(until you build a current gen system) you're going to be fine but the bottleneck from the CPU side will hold your GTX750Ti.

Pass on a budget, a region for purchase or a site you'd like us to locate a unit for you and we could help you out.

You may want to list the make and model of the ram's since I know that DDR2 comes in 2GB and 4GB flavors. Given that the board only has two slots, you're opting for 2x4GB sticks of DDR2 ram.

I don't really have a budget, I'm building it as I go but I really don't want to put a lot of money in. Lets say 300-400€ (or less ) .
The sites I will buy from are:
www.pcgarage.ro and
www.emag.ro

I want this PC for at least 1-2 years until I can afford something better.

I didn't pay attention at the RAM manufacturer but I was thinking for the 2x4GB sticks.

For the PSU and the CPU , do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for making time to reply. I appreciate it!

I own the motherboard from a PC already built and bought 2 years ago and I'm planning to buy the GPU from my friend with 50€ (1/2 years old) the rest of the components I plan to buy them brand new.
Thank you for the help you gave me, but I think I'll wait a little more and maybe buy a MB with the 1155 socket and a more powerful CPU since the 775 is that old.

Kabylake and Ryzen are the words you should remember for the year of 2017 and they will be launched sometime this year so just hang on for a little while. If you must invest to usher in your new platform, buy a reliable PSU, PC case and storage drive while you spend on the CPU, Motherboard and ram as the second stage while the GPU is your last purchase.

Did you click on the Best Solution button by accident?

I'll try to remember those names and google them 'cause I don't know what they really mean.

About the solution.. no I didn't click on it by accident because you convinced me at "Unfortunately your aspirations would be far fetched/over stretched since the LGA775 platform is well over 7 generations" to not build it yet and just wait some more months until I'll have enough money to build something better.

Thank you again for helping me.
Kind regards, sh33py.
