Is it worth buying a G3258 and not upgrading for the next year

I'm getting an LGA 1150 mobo and want to upgrade to G3258 because rn I'm running an old Q6600 overclocked to 3.2GHz, and I'm asking if it's worth buying a G3258 or should I spare some more and get a K model from i5 series

Solution
If you don't have the money for an i5 you wont have the money for a Ryzen/Zen CPU, AM4 motherboard and DDR4 RAM needed. Forget Ryzen, save as much as you can and get an i3 or ideally i5.

Don't upgrade yet Ryzen from the Zen series is Coming out from AMD and without boost enabled it was equal or better than Intel and costs supposedly $400 less in the high end. Also VEGA I think it's called is the new GPU line.

I'd say wait until you can at least afford an i3. The Pentium can struggle on newer games due to having only 2 cores and 2 threads. Overclocking the G3258 helps to an extent, but won't completely eliminate stuttering problems in some newer titles. AMD is launching new CPUs soon as well, though initially only the high end chips are likely to be available so there might still be a bit of wait for their more budget oriented offerings.
