so I built a budget gaming PC to finally upgrade from playing on a mac, but now i want to upgrade my motherboard too. I was looking at getting a Asus P8Z77 deluxe that I found on Ebay but before I got it, I have a question to ask. my current motherboard utilizes a i5 2400, and only a single 4 pin cpu power header on it, but the Asus P8Z77 deluxe uses an 8 pin motherboard header. my psu has the 4+4 connector so i could use the full 8 pins, but would that cause more power usage? if so, could I only run it with four pins without extra power usage?
currently i'm using an Evga 430w, and under load, my computer draws about 220 to 240 watts.

You won't use the full power of the 8 pins unless you Overclock.
If I recall correctly, Asus has it to where you can only put in the 4 pin into the 8 pin header. It will tell you in the manual, which you can find online.
