Your only viable option for increased performance on an am3+ mobo at this time is OC. The 8370/8350/8320 and the 9370/9590 are all the exact same cpu. They just have different factory clocks and voltages. It's entirely possible to OC an 8320 to the same performance level and clocks as the 9590 with one huge difference. It can be done on any 990Fx mobo and some 970 mobo's. To use a 9 series cpu requires 1 of a half dozen specific 990Fx mobo's built for those 220w cpus. Any other board will fry in a matter of minutes.

So, your choices are 4.
1. Do nothing but wait for Zen and weigh options between Zen or skylake/kaby-lake.
2. Spend hundreds on a new ancient specific 990Fx board and a 9 series cpu, along with a very good cpu cooler.

100% DO NOT BUY THE 9590 It is a horrible tremendous waste of money

If you want to upgrade there is nothing worth buying above what you have for AM3+ its a dead platform.

Save your money to buy a new board and processor, either Intel Skylake/Kabylake or AMD Ryzen when its released in the next couple months.

Now is not a great time to be thinking of upgrading your Cpu to another FX based cpu of a higher model number.

First of all if you did go for a FX 9590 cpu you would have to make sure that the current motherboard and it`s cpu socket on it can support a 220w cpu.

If it does not.
And to be totally honest with you Azcexk I would recommend you wait for Amd`s release of there new line of Ryzen cpu`s.
AM4 motherboards that will use or require DDR 4 memory.

As the quoted single core performance of a Ryzen based cpu is or will be at least a 40% increase in processing power.
And also more power efficient, leading to much lower cpu temps.

Your only looking at another three to four weeks when Ryzen is
launched.

Just hang fire till then, buying a FX 9590 cpu now will just be a total waste of money, for very little gain in cpu processing power.

Hello and thanks for asking on Tom's Hardware! Unfortunately, ALL of the elders above are correct... DO NOT BUY ANOTHER AM3+ CPU IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO! AM3+ is essentially dead and has been since 2014, I recommend either waiting for AM4 CPUs or if you are impatient, switching to Intel. Hope this helps!

Amazon makes returns very easy, go into your orders, find the item, and click return, they take you through a process and even will give you a shipping label.
