Alright so the more i read about this stuff the more i get scared to do anything so i figure its best to ask the experts. My plan was to upgrade my GPU, but then i kinda need to upgrade the CPU aswell if i do that, then i have the motherboard compatibility to worry about and power supply etc etc. So. All i really need to know is what needs upgrading and what i should be looking at thats compatible with what ive got:

Basically looking to double my performance ingame, that kinda price range.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me in the slightest. If you need anymore information feel free to ask.

Hey bud, sure that's a better CPU, but it wouldn't be compatible with the motherboard you have unfortunately.. https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/A88XMPLUS/HelpDesk_CPU/

The best CPU you board would support is something like an A10 7870k/A10 7890k which would be a considerable upgrade from what you have now. If you wanted to get a new board I'd probably advise getting an Intel model as FX are a little outdated now, but still pretty solid chips.

I'd probably go for an RX 470 over the R9 380 as its a newer card in the same price range but it depends what prices you can get in your area and they are v similar. A 1050Ti might be a consideration too.

You may be better off going for a tier two 500w PSU with slightly better components...

You may be better off going for a tier two 500w PSU with slightly better components too, as the VS series are a bit low quality and you wouldnt really need 650w. There's a good guide to PSU quality here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
