Mini ITX build - CPU/mobo suggestions?

I already have a main gaming machine and I want to build a portable secondary machine for when I travel.

For travel purposes it absolutely needs to be a mini ITX build.

I already have a spare GTX 960 to go in it. In the future this will be replaced with the GTX 1060 from my main machine.

The main use is to play the existing games I already own. I don't need ultra or maxed out settings though high would nice and 60fps is essential. Not aiming for higher than 1080p. I also play a fair amount of emulators and looking for a CPU which can handle PCSX2 and Dolphin fairly well. Reasonable video editing performance would be a bonus, but by no means essential or a deal breaker.

I'm basically looking for the best budget CPU/mobo option to cover the above, £150-200 for both would be fantastic. I'm cool going with either Intel or AMD for the CPU, though bear in mind mini-ITX rules out AM3+ sockets.

If I can avoid paying out for an i5 that'd be preferable, though I have the money to if it's unavoidable. I have seen a 2nd hand i5 4460 for £90, though it limits me to a LGA 1150 Socket and further upgradeability. Not a major concern as it won't be my primary machine but it's a consideration. That said, I have an i7 4790 in my main machine which could be passed onto this portable build in the future when the main machine is upgraded.

i3 CPUs are nice price-wise and seem to play nice with the GTX 960, though it seems to bottleneck the GTX 1060. Not an immediate concern but one to consider for the future.

Motherboard wise I'm pretty easy (aside from it being mini ITX). built in Wi-Fi would be nice, but the cheaper the better (within reason).

So yeah, it's a lot to consider. Aside from the above stipulations I'm pretty flexible and open to all options. Any help is always appreciated

Thanks for the suggestion :)

Did consider the i3 6100 but apparently it can be a real bottleneck, especially with GTA5. Also concerned about how a dual core will handle games in a couple of years

£3-400 but I'm set on most of the other parts and I already have the GPU to go in it (GTX 960). The CPU/mobo are the main areas I'm currently undecided on.

Should I just abandon the £90 2nd hand i5 4460 option because of it's LGA1150 socket?

Am considering the 6500 is all else fails.

The i3 6100 is a great price though. It's gonna be paired with a GTX960 for at least a year, can you see it being a bottleneck at all?

It will run, but it'll just default to 2133.
Saying that there's no reason to get 2800MHz purely for that reason.
An i5 4460 for 90 pounds is a fantastic deal.

It's very, very tempting but the LGA1150 socket is a concern. Come upgrade time I'd have to replace the CPU, mobo and RAM all at the same time. At least with the current plan the i3 6100 shouldn't bottleneck a GTX 960, and then I can simply replace it with an i5 further down the line

From what I understand, as long as it's not an overclockable CPU and the pins are fine, it's generally a safe bet. I'd consider a 2nd hand 6500

Pretty much. Going with just 8Gb Ram though (it'll be fine for now). For storage going with a 240Gb SSD and 500GB HDD. Already have a case (Silverstone SG13)
