Will Geforce GTX 750Ti work with Dell Optiplex 7040 MT desktop PCs

technically speaking the answer is yes, but I have a reserve with your 240watt power supply as dell are barely tested over 200w sustained.

I have used this 750 Ti with Dell optiplex 9020 MT which has PSU of 290Watts, it works fine...
TBH i have to purchase these Optiplex 7040 MT desktop PCs for a client. Where client has specified both desktop to be 7040 and graphic card to be 750ti

yes 85% of 290w is still 246 wats, 90% if gold would be a little more
but in his case he has a 240watts power supply not a 290w
and 85% of 240w is 204watts
and 92% of 240w is 216 watts
and the consumption of power will be from 76w to 246watts (sustained)
both those numbers your claiming to be in those towers, still would not be sufficient to prevent a burn out of the PSU when under gaming strain
you asked a question I answered it, yes the card will work on it, with high risk of Psu failure, and I strongly suggest to upgrade the PSU with the video card to at least 300w. the numbers are the numbers I did not make the law of electricity .
