My rig is
Cpu : i7 6700k
Gpu: msi gtx 980 g4
Cpu cooler: hyper evo 212

Gpu runs at 1190 base clock and memory is 1793, got bclk offset to 184 and memory offset to 350 and ran valley and worked perfect, go into any games and the game either crashes or i get a black screen

I didnt raise voltages at all though.

What is going on.

Solution
If your temps are below 83C then sure but if not then no point because your gpu will begin to throttle at 83C to avoid overheating and causing damage.

your GPU can't handle that overclock on stock voltages. I would back off on your base clock and memory clocks until you find a stable speed. Loop futuremark firestrike for an hour and if no crashes you probably have a stable overclock. Do you have any issues with stock clocks? If no raise them by 25mhz at a time until you find a point were it crashes. then back of 5mhz untill its stable. when you find a stable OC I would still back it off another 10mhz more to ensure reliability (15mhz total including the previous 5mhz from crash point). Then do the same for your ram. Just do one at a time to make your OC easier. One variable is easier to spot a problem with, doing both you never now which is causing the crash. hope that helps.

My temps are very cool, Around 50c, Also should I run firestrike or the time spy one on 3D mark, time spy is for Directx12 which firestrike is directx11, I'm assuming the time spy one would be more demanding no?
