GTX 1060 or RX 480? very much confused as someone said that RX 480 can burn my motherboard's PCIe slot?

Also if RX 480 is more future proof, how many years are we talking about and what will be the fps difference in vulcan and dx12 games?

RX 480 is better value then the GTX 1060. They perform very similarly, but the RX 480 is cheaper. The issue about burning motherboards has been fixed with the latest drivers. The RX 480 will perform a bit better then the 1060 in DX12 and Vulcan games.

And what if I am getting a 1060 cheaper? What about the fps difference in dx12 and vulcan.
