Hi all,

Was wondering if I could get some feedback from the community to see if I'm risking my computer at all. So I had built a computer around 6 months ago... no problems at all. A week ago I had received my first BSOD "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". After reading about the error, it seemed to be linked with possible faulty memory or driver issues. I had restarted the computer and it started with no problems so I had left it be and continued to use it (probably unwise).

Now Today while playing Overwatch, the computer froze but I did not receive at BSOD. I was forced to shut it down and restart. However after restarting, the power would constantly turn on and off. After reading the forums they suggested PSU or Memory. So I removed one of the 16gb ram modules and restarted again. Now the machine works. I then put the same RAM module back in a different slot and the machine still runs perfectly.

Is it possible that the RAM module was loose and causing the computer to constantly restart in 3 second intervals? I seem to have no problems right now and I had driven 500 miles with the machine to go home for winter break. The RAM could have possibly been knocked loose then.

Just wanted others feedback to see if this could have been such an easy problem of loose RAM which can produce these symptoms or is my computer still at risk?

Thanks

Hi Paul. Looking at the settings for my computer currently for recovery, it is set to "Automatic Recovery Dump" instead of small memory dmp. Does this mean I need to set it to small dmp and wait for the BSOD again?
