i3 3220T vs i3 2120

Hello everyone, I am thinking of picking up one of these for my build. The 3220T is running at 2,8 while the 2120 runs at 3,3. But the 3220T is newer. I need your opinion on what cpu is better. I want to pair the cpu with a gtx 950 and 8 gigs of ram. Mainly need it for gaming, gta 5 and newer titles .

Go for the 3rd Gen i3 since it has DDR3 1333Mhz/1600MHz support out of the box as opposed to the 2nd gen's previous DDR3-1066MHz/1333MHz.

Might I ask what the rest of your specs are looking like?

i have a 2600k and my 1333 memory is fine. in dual channel its actually better than my last rigs 8gb stick of ballistic sport 2133... close to 2 times as good. quality of ram matters far more than frequency. and if you have a z75 or a z77 mobo you can run 1600 (oc) just fine.
