I just started playing Dishonored 2, got through the first few hours of gameplay, then suddenly crashed. Now every time i start playing i can play about 30 secs to about 5 mins before it gives me the error "could not create D3D device." i did some research and they said to OC my graphics processor and memory. i got about 30 mins in until it gave me a graphics hardware error (supposedly overheated which i don't believe). not only that but my computer gave me the BSOD when i tried to play R6 siege because of my OC. i thought i would ask you geniuses at toms hardware what my problem would be. The last thing i want to do is to have to buy a new GPU to play Dishonored. my graphics settings are on low just so you know.

Hardware:

GPU: Gigabyte R9 380X 4GB

MB: ASRock fatal1ty 990FX
CPU: AMD FX-6300
PSU: corsair CX550M

Didn't help much. only got me an extra 2 minutes of playtime. this time it said it couldn't create D3D device because of bad hardware. is my R9 really that bad? i'm running graphics on low. do i need to go very low?

BTW, i kinda upgraded since i posted this thread, and it's still happening. my GPU and PSU are the same and i now have an FX-8320 CPU and ASRock 970m pro 3 MB.
