Hi,
I had som issues with my new Lenovo Thinkpad T460s, Lenovo tech did replace the chassi as the screws was not aligne with the rest of the chassi.
And as the screws was loose it did "scratch" some on the round gold plated area around the screw holes on the motherboard.
Also one screw did get stuck under the buttomplate against the motherboard.
So now Lenovo 'll also send me a new buttomplate - and that's nice.

Lenovo support tells me that it's nothing to worry about, but I just want to be sure that's why I'm also asking you guys.
Lenovo also tells me that I have 3 years left of my warranty.

I have run the Lenovo hardware test and I did not find any issues.
I have run Intel's hardware test for the CPU, GPU and motherboard I did not find any issue.
I have run memtest86 and I did not find any issue.

Is my motherboard broken? Or is that nothing to worry about?
What's that goldplated area? Is it some kind of protection for the motherboard against the screws?
I only have this scratches on one of this plates as the screw from the buttomplate was loose there.

If this was your motherboard had you been worried?

It's all good. Those areas of any motherboard are usually left without circuit traces because they will be in contact with screws or parts of the case. It even seems that if you scratched the green part, nothing would happen in that specific part of the board. Nothing to worry about.

I don't understand what increased durability means?
