Can Overclock Cause Game Lag?

I recently overcloked my system and now when I play League of Legends is will freeze periodically throughout matches. It will freeze for maybe 2-3 seconds and then resume. Network ping stays the same, so it's not network lag.

EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC @ +122MHz Core, +407MHz Mem
Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB (Windows + Games)
Kingston V300 120GB (Games including LoL)

I would suspect either my memory or my GPU being overclocked too much. ALthough, I had this issue before and transferring the LoL game files from a Corsair Force LS 120GB to my other SSD fixed that.

sounds like your OC is unstable, or your CPU could be throttling due to overheating.

plus, you don't need that OC to run LoL, that game runs even on a toaster with onboard graphics, and you have a 6GB 1060, try playing it without overclocking and see if it freezes, and check your CPU temp
