Haven't built for a long time but just finishing up my first water cooling loop and getting ready to get down to the PC itself finally. I see there is a jpwr2 attachment and wondering if that is for overclocking. Seems in addition to the power cable I am used to.

I do plan some basic auto overclocking for the first time but it is in a terribly hard spot to reach.

Thanks for any info.

its for extreme overclocking if its anything like my motherboard--ie its a 4 pin cpu socket extra to the standard 8 pin cpu socket

didnt even connect mine didnt get any issue with 6600k at 4.7ghz

though you can also get boards where the extra socket is for using with several graphics cards to give more power

Okay so I have two really old gpu's in SLI until I hear something about the 1080ti. After that I'll like have a single 1080ti. I plan to use xmp profiles, which I understand is mild overclocking and then possibly the amp auto settings on my motherboard if there is still some safe room on the CPU. Nothing extreme planned

Probably don't need to even use it then?

i didnt use mine with no issue

but this motherboard holds world record overclocks so guess when they did those they surely used it

xmp is for memory

some motherboards have auto cpu overclocking--though need to watch those as they tend to get aggressive with the cpu voltage

1080ti when it comes should be great--at a great big price as well lol

really it depends what you need from the gpu

i have a gtx1070 heavily overclocked and for 1440p its great

for 4k then yes a gtx1080ti is a likely contender
