Is my power supply going to be enough for my upgraded build

i have a 500 watt power supply currently and i'm upgrading my comp to these new parts.. will it be enough or is it safer to just upgrade the psu as well

i5 6600k
gtx 970
16gb ddr4 3200
and a asrock Z170 gaming k4 mobo

Should be fine. The Wattage is enough, your system will probably around 350W at full load.

But as people here will tell you, it never hurts to upgrade to a higher quality PSU. I don't think its really necessary unless you have some extra money to blow or you want to have a super reliable system.

makes sense its a rather old i guess i could defiantly use a newer / stronger one. Any suggestions on a solid PSU for a good price for that build... somthing i wont have to worry about

You can look at this tiered list to get an idea of models that are good: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Generally tiers 1-3 are good, but If you want the extra piece of mind, and can find a good deal, try to go for tier 1.

I suggest you look through the sales on PSUs at your local/online computer stores and see if any tier 1,2,or 3 PSUs are on sale. It is also good to read some reviews before purchasing it.
