I'm planning on upgrading my laptop's RAM from 4gb to 8gb and also replacing my hard drive with an SSD. I have a Dell Latitude E6420 Laptop,
here is the link to the parts that i can upgrade: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/latitude-e6420

The parts i'm thinking of buying
RAM:
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 SODIMM (USD $69.99)
Crucial 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 SODIMM (USD $61.99)

SSD:
Crucial MX300 275GB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD (USD $89.99)

NOTE: im not very experienced with this kind of stuff that's why im seeking advice on here. the parts i listed are from ''crucial'' because i used their site to find out which parts of my laptop are upgradeable and they gave me suggestions of their products afterwards. if theres any suggestions or tips you guys might have, please please help me. thank you very much ^_^

Solution
The SSD will definitely boost performance, but the RAM might not if none of your apps take it above 4GB - you would be wasting money.
Get the SSD then see how it runs.
