Hey guys,

so I am running at gtx 660 right now and I am about to upgrade to 1050ti or 1060 3gp version if I get those couple additional bucks I just wanna ask if will my CPU bottleneck either of these GPUs.

Also I wanna ask what PSU would you recomment, I currently have Chieftec 400W cuz I got 2 years old computer that was bought as one piece.

Solution
Honestly OP, go for whatever works best for you. You'll probably get a bottleneck with the 1060, but that's fine if you plan on upgrading in the future.

Also, an excellent choice is the RX 470, very close to GTX 1060/RX 480 performance for a little more than a GTX 1050 ti.
no mate youll be good with that cpu,it may hold the 1060 back a little in certain titles but It wouldnt put me off buying one.
Be aware If you only have a vga monitor with no dvi or hdmi input you will need an active vga adapter as these cards do not have analog video output
Psu recommendation would depend on where you are ? A good quality 430w + is absolutely plenty for either of those 2 cards.

Id argue against that as simply put the 1060 3gb is masses ahead of the 1050ti performance wise (close to 40%)

in the uk the price difference between a more expensive model of the 1050 ti & a cheaper single fan version of the 1060 is roughly £20 which is not a lot of money.

I'm not seeing a 30% difference between a 1050ti & a 1060 3gb.

A minimum of 35% better & generally 50% better 99% of the time
Its a far far stronger card , liken the old 960 to the 970 & that is a good comparison.

The 1060 3GB will do high/ultra graphics at the same fps as the 1050ti will do medium.

To add you could get away with a bus powered 1050ti on your current PSU , the 1060 you definitely won't.

Id replace the chieftec irregardless , its a terrible PSU & a danger to your system.

Your best choice will depend on your max budget (for both PSU&GPU) & your country ???
