As stated in the title, my new headphones sound like junk when I use it with the PC, but they sound fine on my phone. I've been using different headphones with my PC and those sound completely fine, but for some reason these ones are just horrible sounding. There's no special driver either so I'm assuming a Realtek one works fine like it does with my other pair of headphones.

Thanks in advanced for any answers!

Headphones don't need a driver mate, it's the audio chip/sound-card they're plugged in to on the motherboard which requires a driver, so it matters not what you plug in to it as far as driver requirements are concerned.

Now, turning your problem, there are some headphones which were designed only for mobile phones and aren't suitable for computers, your headphones may be one of those, especially since your other headphones work fine on that same PC.

without giving us any information such as brand and model numbers its hard to say. also, sounding like junk is subjective.. what exactly does it sound like?

my thoughts are that the amplifier in his phone is better than on his pc and he is using a poor quality onboard to begin with. or it could be he just purchased headphones which are better quality and can hear distortion or noise that can not be heard on a previously less detailed set of cans.

agreed, headphones do not need drivers. he is speaking of the onboard audio chipset drivers. i doubt thats the problem here though.

certain headphones are low impedance designs easily powered by mobile devices or have mics built in with 4pole plugs but otherwise will work fine on any device including pc generally speaking. hard to say whats going on though without any product numbers.
