Intel StepSpeed = erratic idle clock and voltages.

So, i have successfully managed to get a stable overclock on my 6700k of 4.7GHz @ 1.325v on an ASUS Maximus VIII Hero. However i am concerned about the longevity of my CPU and/or VRMs. I use adaptive mode in the UEFI, but with windows power settings at minimum processor of 100%, my voltage is always pinned at 1.325v and 4.7GHz.

Dropping the min state to 5% means my CPU downclocks, but the clock at idle is erratic, and so is the core voltage.

Whats better? To keep the clock & Voltage pinned steady at 4.7GHz (Which idles at around 22ish oC)... Or drop the min processor state to 5%, but let the voltage bounce around. Could this cause premature wear & tear on the VRMs ?

Sorry if this is a daft question, i am not new to building, but fairly new to overclocking.
