My Gpu is on 100 degrees in gaming

Hello so few years ago i bought my r7 260x 1gb powercolor and while i was gaming it was on like max 70 degrees and recently i was playing witcher 3 and my computer shut down few times i didnt know what happend and then i checked the gpu temperature in witcher 3 its like 100 degree and my fan is on 100% on msi afterburner and idk what else to do to cool it down its so annoying idle temps are like 39,41c.Also games where i have things on ultra like rocket league left for dead 2 temprs are 100c and games where i have things on low like arma 3 csgo temprs are 60,70
Pc specs
Psu-Blueberry 560w
Cpu=Amd fx 6300
Gpu=Amd Radeon r7 260x powercolor 1gb
Motherboard=Gigabyte not sure
Ram=2x4gb hyperx
EDIT:When im in game its 100c when i alt tab its 40 like wtf is that legit?

You might have dust buildup in your fans. Additionally, one of the fans for your GPU might be dying. Try cleaning out some dust from your fans by detaching them from the PCB. If that doesn't work, try replacing your fans for your GPU.

Maybe your PC simply can no longer handle those games.

To crack an AMD joke, those things just run hot. Even in their newer GPU series they still act as a secondary radiator. I think the thermal paste of your card might need a replacement.

your system is a few years old by now, you say, so check if there are a few things you can still do to, at the very least, reduce a digit or so in your hardware. Try cleaning the interiors of your rig, and if you haven't, try tying up a few cables or so to add in more airflow into your case.

Other than those things i'd begin to consider an upgrade in the near future. (probably a few more things you can do, but ------ a hassle, you know).

I cleaned whole pc today with compressor cleaned all dust and still 99c and i dont think new games are problem since some ---- games like dirt 3 and left 4 dead 2 pull 100c and they are not even new and i dont even know how to replace paste and fan in gpu i didnt know whats thing
