I have a 4TB western digital HDD and a 2TB western digital HDD with WIN 7. I am able to see the 4 TB and 2 TB HDD in intel RST. However, i want to be able to use the full 4 TB HDD but it is only showing at 2 TB when i look at in disk management. I thought maybe it had to do with the drive not being in GPT. I downloaded AOMEI to help with this but both drives show as being simple GPT. Can anyone help with this?

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the 4 TB HDD. I'd strongly recommend you back up any important data from it somewhere else immediately and then try to resolve the issue by re-formatting it through Disk Management instead of using third-party utilities. However, you need to re-initialize it first and be certain that you have selected the GUID Partition Table (GPT) as the partition table, and not MBR (Master Boot Record). Unfortunately, MBR is unable to work with larger than 2 TB HDDs which is why it limits the available capacity of the drive. Afterwards, you shouldn't face any difficulties with the partitioning & formatting. I hope...

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the 4 TB HDD. I hope everything works out properly.

If you encounter more issues and you are still unable to format the HDD properly. I'd strongly recommend using the WRITE ZEROS feature from our WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool. This will get the drive back to its factory default unformatted state which will allow you to perform the steps from above once again.

Just don't forget to back up all data you currently have stored on the 4 TB drive before you proceed with the troubleshooting!

Keep me posted. I hope this helps you. :)
