ARMA 3 DLC worth getting?

So I'm looking into getting ARMA 3 and I'm wondering if the DLC is A. Worth getting and B. Do I need it to join most servers? Also as a side question, is there a good DayZ mod for AMRA 3? And what do you do in ARMA 3 as a whole? I know it's a lot fo questions but I'm the kind of person to ask lots of questions about games before I buy them haha

Arma 3 yes, i have all of the dlc for it also, the only one i think is a waste is the carts one. i play mostly the Unsung Vietnam mod it is a blast.
