First of all I'm not entirely sure this is a motherboard issue as it involves my graphics card...though I'm fairly certain it's my motherboard that has the issue. Basically, my motherboards bios under graphics card post/info is reading the clock speed and video bios version of the asus strix 1080 8g when I have a faster version in the asus strix 1080 a8g. Not sure If this will affect performance or if it is just a display bug but GPU-Z shows me having the right card and clock speeds. My motherboard is the ASUS Z170-A.

Solution
Yeah, having motherboard bios adjust RAM and CPU parameters makes perfect sense, but it's not responsible for GPU operating parameters. The GPU's BIOS handles that.

Yea I assume it's just a bios bug. Cause whenever I tried putting in my old 960 it doesn't even read any info for it in the bios but It shows it's connected and everything in Windows...another thing is my bios automatically changes my cpu's target turbo speed from 4200 MHz to 4300 MHz and my ram speed from 2133 MHz to 2933 MHz without me changing any of the values myself. I guess it's part of Asus auto detect software in the bios which decides appropriate values for my current hardware: i7 6700k and 16 gb DDR4 (8gb x 2) Corsair vengeance lpx 3000 mhz
