My EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 fried by a strong power surge. I will be receiving fund's from my insurance company. So my question is what would be a good equivalent/replacement between $200-$300? Thanks

Solution
With that budget, you can definitely get your hands on a GTX1060 6GB. Or if you're lucky, a GTX1070. Either way, it's a MASSIVE upgrade over the 760.

Thanks for the responses. I have an APC surge protector. I had a APC UPS was about to purchase a new one and this happened. The surge blew out my receiver, two of my TVs, damaged the HDMI port's on two others, and fried my PS4. Crazy

Ouch. So this was a surge, or a lightening strike, or a failure of the UPS? Either way that sucks.

Now I can see why it's worth turning this in.

Most likely it will be the GTX 1060. Which GTX 1060 should I get? I was looking at several versions on Newegg and Amazon. Just too many versions to pick from.

I prefer EVGA, if you register the card after you get it on the website, which is free you get a lifetime warranty on the card. The have a good reputation for standing behind their stuff already. Personally I would get the 6 GB since you said your max budget is $300. Since games keep eating more and more memory as resolutions go up. In the case of the 1060, the FTW edition doesn't gain a double BIOS or anything, so best bang for your buck is the SSC,

06G-P4-6267-KR - $285 from NewEgg

You can also view This link and see the minor differences. The gold row will be the card above. As you can see the 06G-P4-6267-KR is already pretty far overclocked from the stock 1060 cards. You can get the FTW card, but it only gains you another 13 Mhz, and it'll cost you another $15. Up to you.

Those cards aren't loud. I have an EVGA 1070 FTW in my case, I even did the BIOS update that adjusted the fan curves and it still isn't noticeable. I know at first I only updated the primary BIOS just in case so I could run on the slave BIOS in case I didn't like the new fan curves. They just aren't loud, and my case is fairly quiet to begin with.
