Does DDR3 1333 Bottleneck Fx8350?

Solution
On AM3+ cpu's aka FX 1866Mhz (or was it 1833Mhz) with tight timings was about as good as it got. So 1333Mhz is not running it at full potential for sure but with tight timings it can be as good as 1600Mhz or even higher with loose timings. The lower the CL the better....
As a general rule of thumb, don't run DDR3 slower than 1600MHz CL9. If you have 1333MHz DDR3, make sure it's CL7. Now that DDR3 production is mature, you can often find much faster RAM than that for a good price. Did you purchase the RAM already?

In regards to bottlenecking though, it all depends on the application. RAM is rarely a primary bottleneck. What applications are you worried about bottlenecking?

Solution
Yes, it is sometimes bottlenecking your system. People generally regard 1600CL9 as the slowest you should go and sometimes 1333CL7 has the same performance, so your 1333CL9 is going to slow you down occasionally--maybe more in new games.

Are you working with some sort of budget to find an upgrade or just finding out if your assumptions might be correct?
