If it's anything like my H97M Anniversary, the PCI-E clip is a little weird. I have to use a small screwdriver or piece of wood as a probe to push the piece of the retention clip up towards the top of the board (toward the CPU). And the GPU is really in the way when I do it. Definitely a bit of a hassle.
