Usually when we have had speaker problems in the past it has been at the plug.
Does it have a high end jack that allows it to be unscrewed, exposing the wires inside the plug?
Then you can just solder them back up for a good connection.
Sounds like a loose connection or ground, which is usually where the wire is attached to the plug.
Does twisting/manipulating the jack alter the sound?
