Hello, I have recently bought a used PC with a GTS 450 for some personal reasons, and I've got a problem with it.

The shipment destroyed it visually, the case was broken and there was HDD bay with 2 3.5" HDDs flying free inside it. I had to fix some pins on the motherboard.

I tested it and it turned out to be working just fine, although I haven't done any benchmarks.

I moved the GPU to another PC, and there's a couple of issues. First, as the title says, the lists in both nVidia drivers and Windows settings are showing very high resolutions and refresh rates (e.g 240Hz). Also, there are display problems when I set any other res than 1024x768, it's either misaligned (and it's impossible to align it properly), or it's shrunk - black bars from all sides.
However, the games run fine on it.

I have tried installing many driver versions, ranging from 2010 to 2016, resetting BIOS settings, messing around with drivers and Windows options... Nothing helps.

What can I do? Is the GPU broken? Thanks for help.

Your videocard supports Max Analog: 2048x1536 and Max Digital: 2560x1600. Windows will display non native resolutions and refresh rates if your monitor is detected as Generic or basic display. Install the proper monitor driver and the list will correct itself.

I forgot to mention, maybe this is relevant... I'm using a VGA-DVI-I DL adapter.

Also I'm encountering this issue on not just one monitor, sorry for not mentioning that earlier. It's on both CRT 1024x768 and LCD 1680x1050 (also using the adapter with it).

Not sure how I'm supposed to install the proper monitor driver, messing around with Monitors in Device Manager doesn't give any effects.

Also, yes the monitor is being displayed as Generic Non-PnP monitor (or Generic PnP monitor, depends on how I set it).
