Wanting to get new ram on my motherboard should this one fit and work if i plug it.

MO is
GA-78LMT-S2

and RAM i want to get is this
HyperX Fury 8gb Memory Kit DDR3-1866 CL10 240-Pin UDIMM Kit (2x4gb) 1.5v

Solution
Your board only supports 1333 for RAM so as said before it will downclock to 1333 by default although you can OC the memory to 1866 if you know the voltages and timings.

i was afraid of a downgrade but shouldn't it downgrade to only 1866 from higher mhz ones? or is it irrelevant because looking into mobo support page it does say it downgrades to 1866 so i thought it would be perfect

Ou awesome then! Will note that when getting them, since everything is better then this piece of crap that i have currently hahahahahaha, thank you for your help! :)

I assume you are replacing current RAM with new RAM and not attempting to use both ?

Your MoBo supports DDR3 1333+ (O.C.)/1066

In that case buying 1866 would be spending for speed you can't use.

Perhaps there was a BIOS update that added support for higher speeds.

As for the RAM, i assume we are talking about for example HX318C10FWK2/8

Unfortunately, the reference does not include SPD info which I'd like to see what is supported at the speeds that the MoBo is rated for. I imagine it is (98%) ... but still would feel more comfy if new for sure.

At the max supported speed of 1333, these are $49.43 and a bit faster at CAS 9 while the set you picked is $57.99 and CAS 10
