Hi,

I have been playing BF1 since launch. I just upgraded from a 1080p/60Hz monitor to 1440p/165Hz (Asus PG279Q). At 1080p I had no problems, 60 fps easy. I assumed my rig should have had not much problem to get to 144-165 fps. People are doing it. Here are my specs.

intel core i7 6700k (no OC as of yet)
Asus Z170-A
16 gb DDR4
Asus GTX 1080
Asus PG279Q 1440p 165Hz

Initially I was getting 45-60fps. I then did a clean install of the video drivers and can consistently get 70fps. I have it on DX11 (DX12 was very stuttery). Vsync is off. I had thought I should be able to get at least 144fps, but can't come close. I am wondering if anyone with a similar build has any experience with this. Looking for any ideas. Is it possible? CPU has hit 80% usage but is usually 60-70%. I have it set on ultra settings, dropping to high will gain me an extra 10fps at most.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I didn't actually benchmark it, just observations from looking up at it during play.

I imagine a lot of people out there will occasionally see high FPS and say they can manage it at those speeds. I certainly saw numbers higher than 90, and I'm sure there were numbers that were less, but likely while I was in close combat.

If you can get someone to provide the average, that would be more suitable.

Tom's benched the GTX1080 at 105.3 FPS on BF4 at 2560x1440, so that should be a rough starting point. Between it and Star Wars Battlefront you'll get a pretty good idea what BF1 should behave like.

There is not a chance in the world of your rig hitting anywhere near 144-165fps. Especially not at now a higher resolution. I don't know where you got that people are doing that. I could see 100-110fps out of your setup tops, based on the real benchmarks out there.

It sounds like its performing exactly as it should based on the numbers you posted.

Well, so maybe 144 is unatainable, but shouldn't I be able to get more than 70 fps. Since reaching out to the pc community I'm hearing people with similar specs getting from 90-120 fps. Any suggestions as to what I can try would be helpful. Also, I am running windows 10 64 bit

I am getting 130 fps on Star Wars Battlefront. That makes me feel somewhat better. Thanks
