i am buying an ssd, wondering if i can use my windows 7 key to activate windows 10 again. will it automatically launch windows 10 as i have activated it in the past or will it go straight to windows 7. if so is there a program to help with this issue? (using USB to activate windows)

Solution
You're just planning to do a fresh install of Win 10 on thsi SSD?

It will work when you login to your microsoft account on first boot, it will associate with you and the hardware.

Setup a Microsoft Account and link your current PC to it , then backup whatever you want to save and perform a clean install on your new setup and activate it with your Microsoft account from within windows. Skip the key entry during setup and activate it from within windows with the registered Microsoft Account.
