Upgrade may be a downgrade

Hi!

I've recently upgraded my CPU, RAM, and Mobo. I had an AMD fx-8350 and upgraded to an i7 6700k. I previously had 16gb of DDR3 RAM and some cheap motherboard but now have 16gb of DDR4 RAM and a GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 MOBO. I used a 980ti in both setups.

The thing is I'm getting worse performance now. I've had to turn my settings down in more games and I'm still getting less FPS. I'm running on High Performance mode (Prioritize preformace > power, is this harmful? It reaches 1.3v occasionally) aswell.

Is there something I'm missing? As far as I know there are no CPU drivers I need or anything. And help would be greatly appreciated

Here are my Nvida Control Panel settings if they are of any help:

Solution
Ok those results tell me your system is performing well but something is definitely holding it back a bit.

A clean Windows install should be your first order of business, then try that benchmark again.

No, is that something I need to do? It just asked for me to verify windows and I entered my old key and it worked. Also, with the benchmark is the only version the $30 one or am I missing something?

and @PC-4LIFE I never had to reinstall windows but my GPU drivers are up to date.

Scroll down a bit, 3dmark basic version is free. You can also get it on Steam if you use that.

And yes a fresh install of Windows is highly recommended, very likely you are having a lot of conflicts that may be causing these issues.

Alright, I found it.

Here are the results:

I assume that's a pretty low score on the last section?

Actually no that score looks fairly reasonable. Can you click the orange button on the top right to validate result online and then post link it gives you?

When I ran it last night it was giving me an error validating. But I could re-run it if it's important information.
Also, with re-installing windows, would I have to purchase widows again or can I use the same key as before?

Thanks!
I went ahead and tried again anyways and it worked this time. I'm not sure why it didn't work last night.
Anyways, here is the link it gave me:

Could be the drivers being held back by Windows as well, due to some conflict. Reinstalling Windows takes any of that weirdness out of the equation.
