Fx 8320 + xfx rx 480 rs screen tearing?

Hi, so when gaming on CS:GO, Infinite Warfare (Dont hate), and other games, i get this noticeable screen tearing when looking around with v-sync off, and i dont want to turn it on cuz it just makes my games slower. What do i do?

CPU: FX 8320
GPU: XFX RX 480 RS
MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
RAM: G.Skill 8gb (4x2)
Cooling: DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm MAELSTROM 120T Liquid CPU Cooling System

I don't think it's either your cpu or gpu (or maybe it's an apu whatever). It's probably your monitor. Can you give us the model number and the brand? Also, if it was a cheap monitor that's probably also the case.

Well my monitor is nothing special but its a Asus VX248

60hz monitor with games running well over 60 fps = screen tearing.

Like i said, 144hz monitor with freesync should do the job.

Only way to solve it is using a frame limiter, no other way.

Limit FPS to 59 using AMD's FRTC.

Download MSI afterburner and the cap your framerate at 60. The pick game settings that allow you to maintain a minimum of 60fps. It wont completely eliminate screen tearing but it wont have the lag you get with V-Sync

Anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyways you should be able to get a nice 90hz monitor (yours is only 75hz or so) that's about the same size as your's for under $150. That should stop most of the tearing, but if you really wanna get rid of it completely you should get one 120hz+, although the good ones around your size are probably $200+.
