Strange blue screens and freezes?

I've been having problems with blue screens for a while now, and it was looking like thermal issues were the cause for said blue screens, but recently I've been having different problems.

My PC will run fine for a while, I can browse, watch videos and play games. After a while though, web pages will stop loading. I can still interact with my already loaded ones, but any new ones opened wont do anything. I can shut my web browser down normally too. Once I interact with my desktop it will freeze however. I may click on an icon once to highlight it, but then I can't do anything else on the desktop. at this point I'll still be able to hover over my taskbar and it will animate the glow when over an icon, but as soon as I click the same thing happens. It freezes and I can't click on anything. I can't control alt delete and no programs will open no matter what. My only option is to shut down the pc by the power button.

I feel like these could be caused by the hard drive. I've had this pc for 4 years now and the hard drive has been in it since I bought it. Could the drive be corrupt or something? or could it be naturally starting to die? My drive frequently checks itself on startup too.

Solution
if there is any alarm(sorry can't open the link you posted) and you couldn't run checkdisk, you have there a hard disk that should be replaced soon

yes, a old hard disk can get corrupted

please run chkdsk, a disk check

also download and run cristaldiskinfo and se if reports any interesting detail

the specs of the machine, please share details, fans in case, how often you do maintenance on the case, case you have, more details

Specs: AMD A8-6600K
gtx 750ti
1tb hard drive
8GB ram
5 fans in total- 4 without cpu cooler.
Just using the stock cpu cooler.

Admittedly I haven't cleaned it and it rather dusty, but normally when I've overheated any pc it bluescreens rather than freezes. Btw I get a watchdog error, if that means anything.

Currently running the chkdsk. shall get back to you.

Edit: As I was running the checkdisk, My pc started to freeze up. My harddrive speed in my resource monitor dropped to 1kb a second and it was checking about a file or two a second.

Couldn't run the disk check, it would freeze my pc every time.
I could however, run the crystal disk check and I'm a tad alarmed with the results.
