What psu do you have? It probably has a 6+2 pin cable which is an 8pin that can also be a 6pin, looks like this below. Plug the 6+2pin from the psu into the gpu with the +2 attached, if your psu has one.
Hi,
I have a ace ATX power supply. I dont think it has a 6+2 pin cable. As I said, the old power supply was powered by two 6 pin cables. Is my PCU not compatible?
(sorry for being a bit stupid with these questions, new to building computers)
thanks
Honestly, while adapters are an option (could even do molex to 8pin) I'd just get a new PSU. Ace is a
very poor brand, and I wouldn't trust one of my computers with one. Look for a Seasonic PSU or a brand that uses their parts, like EVGA or Corsair.
It'll come with the correct 2+6 connectors and you'll have a solid PSU.
