Screen freezes (but audio works fine) then turns off and back on with no error message

So yeah, as mentioned in the title, my screen just randomly freezes (if I'm listening to a youtube video then the audio still works fine while the screen is frozen), then the screen turns off and on with no warning message or error messages. And when I say the screen freezes, I mean that I can not interact with anything except move my cursor around.

This has been happening to me since I installed my GTX 1060 and I don't believe it's the drivers because I have already installed it and uninstalled it many times and also used DDU to do so. I also noticed that it's only doing this while multitasking.

Do you think it's my pentium g3258 that's not able to keep up with the GPU so it stops it for like 1 second before continuing? It literally never happens when having just 1 thing open, only when opening multiple softwares at the same time which probably peaks the CPU at 100%.

Thanks.

did you uninstalled the intel graphic drivers?

it sounds like you could need to run ddu to uninstall all drivers available and then download drivers for your new card and then install them

see if that helps

that cpu can do full hd on youtube, if a atom can, this one can too, but if you open many apps the video can get frozen for some seconds but a completelly black screen? sounds very weird to me

it sounds more related to a app or drivers, perhaps a hardware aceleration problem between the web browser and the gtx 1060

what 1060 you got?

I have this: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/7RKhP6/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-windforce-oc-6g-video-card-gv-n1060wf2oc-6gd

I have also not overclocked it at all. It's in stock frequency.

I'm also having a BSoD when playing CS:GO (only happens when I am in that game) that says something like this: irql driver_not_less_or_equal

It never happened to me while playing with the intel hd graphics.

I uninstalled Intel HD graphics but not using DDU. I will try uninstalling Intel and NVIDIA driver, but later.

I think this will work.
