I just put my first build together. It was the most annoying experience I've ever, ya know, experienced. With a non-modular EVGA PSU and a cheap Corsair case, I was about to rip my hair out. To make matters worse, the darn build won't display anything (my MB has no onboard video) and while I began to suspect that it may be my GPU, I noticed that the light on my mouse and keyboard did not light up. All fans spin, GPU, system, and CPU fan.

When I put the 20+4 pin connectors in, I had to use an awful lot of force (while holding the other side of the MB of course). I never heard a click, and it's almost impossible to get the darn thing out.

Sorry to hear this, you just reminded me why I don't want to rebuild my system with newer processor. It can be frustrating.

Try to take it out of the box and POST. I had a case shortage experience (power switch) in the past.
