I have in my system G.Skill Ripjaws Z F3-2400C10D-8GZH 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

Now I want to upgrade it to 16gb, though I am unable to find another matched set of this exact type.

Would my system still retain dual channel mode across all 4 dimms if I were to install 8GB DDR3 G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL (2x4G) 1600MHz PC12800 Ripjaws RAM ?

And in doing so would I be sacrificing any bandwidth over a matched set of (2x8) 16gb ?

This matched set? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231585

You would retain dual channel mode, but.. you're higher speed ram would downclock to the lower speed of the 1600mhz. The other thing to keep in mind is that mixing and matching different types, brands, and speeds of ram is always a crapshoot at best. There's no real way of knowing if you're going to run into problems until after you've spent your money. That being said, personally i've never had any issues at all when mixing and matching, but there are those who have.

Well that's good to hear. Yes that is the same set, but I'm not entertaining the idea of spending $20 shipping on a $80 item that I could potentially store orally. :S

I think I'll nab those other modules as it's going through with other items at a local store. More convenient and less expensive this way. Cheers!
