Big annoying problem with overcloocking

Hi. i've 2 programs for overclocking MSI afterburner and catalyst for my AMD r9 280 overcloock edition. now i am super anoyed because my overclocking sometimes work on MSI and not on catalyst and viceversa and sometimes it doesn't listen to my commands at all! like now i'm overclocked but my clock speed in game are stock. if i restart computer now it may work or may not just depends how my GPU feels -.- i've searched for any thread like this and didn't find it. so my problem is my overcloocking programs sometimes doesn't overcloock my GPU for some odd reason. and some times it works normaly. anyone help?

Overclocking has it's limits.. if you're system is unstable at where you've set your overclock, then you've exceeded what your card can handle... it's like ordering a minivan to perform like a corvette.. sometimes it just ain't gonna happen

i restarted computer runing game with overcloocking setings now next morning i might have to restart again once or not.. overclocked edition gpu did overcloock it and is 68c max.
