Hi there,

I have seen loads of posts about the CX corsair series complaining about the 24 pin plug being stiff. All of them said that you have to just force it in and thats the best way. So that is what i did i tried to force it in and i managed to force it in mostly and the clip seems to have gone over the socket,( I am using the MSI H110m PRO VD plus mobo if any1 is wondering) and still nothing turns on. So then i turned on the power supply while trying to plug in the 24 pin and when i had partially plugged it in the case fans turned on and the PSU fan started spinning and that was it but the CPU fan didn't turn on. A red light started blinking next to the RAMM and it was labeled CPU but then that stopped, It only flashed when i partially put in the 24 pin at some angle. I decided to keep the PSU and have a fiddle by moving the 24 pin to side to side while partially plugged in and the CPU fan did spin for about a second then stopped. What is it? i cant decide whether it is the motherboard which is not working because the Case fan which was plugged into the mobo didn't turn on but that might be because it was a 3 pin connector and there was only a 4 pin connector there IDK i am new. If someone has actually bothered to read through all of this and could explain to me what the hell is going on and what i could do that would be so appreciated i am so terrified right now because this is my first build and my parents will not be best pleased when they realised that my pc does not work and they spent 300 towards it.

One last thing, if the mobo is not working and i have plugged in all the parts towards it and turned on the power does this mean that everything like the CPU and GPU will not work? also i have been wearing a static wrist band through this whole thing. except when i wore these rubber gloves.

I have got it working slightly. The corsair case fan plugged into the mobo doesn't turn on but the cpu fan and two case fans both turn on. Plus this red light labeled CPU next to the RAMM starts flashing and this is all when the 24 pin plug is partially plugged in at a certain angle.

Thanks everyone who replies to this.

Sounds like that big 24 pin plug isn't fully home, they can be a total bast~** to get in at the best of times.
Try: remove the plug and apply some petroleum jelly around the edge to lubricate it. Don't worry about it getting into the contacts, the stuff is quite safe to use on electronics. And no, don't use any oils, vegetable oils go rancid and gummy over time and mineral oils can damage the plastics over time, making the parts brittle.
DON'T just push it home hard, there's a risk of cracking the motherboard, if you can, wedge two or more fingers under the socket to support it

Yeah it is still not working at one angle i have the case fans running but the blue led's flashing, then a light flashing red on the mobo labeled CPU. But at another angle the two case fans connected by molex are running and blue led's are still but the red light is not flashing. The CPU fan has not turned on yet i managed to get it for a short time but that was when the CPU sign was flashing red, What does that mean ?

Try unbolting the motherboard from the case. Leave everything else plugged in and set it on your motherboard box. This tests if your motherboard is grounding on the case. Test then test the RAM removal again to make sure its not more than one issue.

Ok thanks i will try that so how do i test if the motherboard is grounded ?
