Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help me here. My computer keeps shutting down whilst gaming. Everything else is fine, internet browsing, listening to music etc. But it seems to randomly shut down whilst playing games, it doesn't even have to be a graphically intensive game! Skyrim, NBA, The Walking Dead, Counter Strike, just to name a few.

I took it to a PC repair store, as originally I thought it was overheating, they confirmed that heating wasn't the problem and they would have to do more tests to find out whilst it was shutting down. They said it would take at least a week so I went to get it back myself. I have ran coretemp w/ logs and when shutting down the CPU has never gone above 71c. The same applies for the GPU, all temps seem good.

Does anybody think it's a PSU issue or some other type of hardware? If so can someone recommend a PSU for me around or under the £100 mark?

Specs:

Powercool 650W 80+ PSU
Intel i5-2380P CPU 3.1GHZ
Nvidia GTX 980
8GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit

Thank you in advance.

Nope, nothing. If it helps, it's almost as if someone has pulled out the power cord when it turns off, it then restarts on its own. (Slower than usual)
