So today I decided to finally swap out my old motherboard ( Gigabytes m68mt-s2 rev 3.1)for a new one (ASUS Z97-P) and also change to a new cpu (I5 4590). After doing so I would turn on the computer, fans would whirl and lights would glow, but my keyboard, monitor and mouse would remain off. As if the computer is on for the sake of spinning his fancy fans. I tried countless solutions, from making sure every cable is where it should be, taking out the cmos battery and using the jumper, taking out my GPU (r9 280) out of the rig and trying to boot the pc - I did this with RAM too ( 2x 4gb), tried hooking my monitor into the onboard graphics rather than the graphics cards'. I have taken into consideration that the motherboard is broken, but finding it hard to believe because it is technically new. I bought it in mid 2015 and kept it in the box until I gathered the other components. I also thought it could be my PSU ( CX600) but it has always performed fine and for it to suddenly turn faulty within the 2 hours it took me to build the thing didn't sound right. All in all I am really in the need of help here. If not solutions then help with pinpointing the problem so I could replace it. Any responses would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

@Zerk2012 do you think if I unplug my ssd and hard drive my display and keyboard will start working again? I can't get into the bios because nothing appears on the screen and my keyboard doesn't turn on for me to even be able to access it

@Zerk2012 I removed the drives and the problem still persisted. I have actually switched back to my old motherboard and the problem is happening on that too even though it was fine before I swapped it out. Any ideas?
