G,Day Guys, I have a question requarding my son,s computer setup. Yesturday he received Acer Predator x34 for xmas. We wasted no time in setting it up.His GPU is Zotac NVIDIA ZT-90204-10P GeForce GTX 980 AMP Edition 4GB GDDR5 DVI/HDMI/3 Display Port PCI-Express SLI Supported Video Card,is this GPU capable of playing games at 3440x1440 resolution?.At the moment he is playing Grand Theft Auto V and it is only managing 30-40 FPS.On his previous Asus monitor which I believe is 1080 he was achieving 130 + FPS.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I happen to have the same monitor (albeit the Freesync version - XR341CK) running on 2 x AMD R9 280x. You must remember that you have gone from a pixel count of 2073600 to 4953600...so over double your original count. I would expect a halving of frame rates on that basis alone.

Your choices are to lower graphics settings (bloom. lighting) and certainly turn off Anti Aliasing. Beyond that your looking at upgrading that 980 to a GTX 1070 (or a GTX 1080 if you're feeling like a generous dad!!!!)
