Hi folks,

Looking for expert level opinions and double checks on whether or not this system I have planned to acquire in the next week is compatible and suitable. I pretty much know the lingo around building computers, but since I am working with a new level of technology (not had to build a whole new rig for 5 years nearly), I thought I'd get some opinions on what I've chosen.

Note: This computer is intended to be a hardcore AAA gaming rig and to provide me with the power needed to create high poly and low poly 3D models for movies and games as well as intense Photoshopping, 2D Illustration at resolutions up to 4K textures. Types of games I will be playing are Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (when it comes), and Star Citizen of course is the major one. Without further ado here's the rig I am planning:

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Intel X99 RGB LED GAMING ATX Motherboard -- Asus Z170 Skylake PRO GAMING USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard if going Skylake is the better option.

CPU:Intel i7 6800K Broadwell Extreme Unlocked CPU/Processor -- Pondering this OR a 6700K Skylake, opinions? Will have to change motherboard obviously if Skylake is better for the cheaper price.

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC ACX 3.0 Edition with Backplate

RAM: Corsair 16GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400MHz RAM/Memory Kit 4x 4GB

M.2 Storage #1: Samsung 500GB 960 Evo PCIe Solid State Drive/SSD MZ-V6E500BW -- For Windows 10 + Star Citizen, possible some 3D programs like ZBrush and Max/Maya too.

Case: Phanteks EVOLV ATX - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phanteks-EVOLV-ATX-Midi-Tower-Anthracite/dp/B00YQKQZ72/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1483674164&sr=1-1&keywords=phanteks

Current parts transferring over to new rig:

Power Supply: Corsair RM 850 (Do not need to replace this, it's only 2 years old)
Watercooler: Corsair H80i v2 (Will this for sure work with the CPU and Chipset i've chosen?)
Storage: Samsung EVO 840 + 850 (120GB and 500GB) with a 2TB Western Digital HDD Storage, I think it's Black.

Dual-Monitor display with an ASUS ROG Swift and an Iiyama ProLite G2773HS already owned and will be used with Razer peripherals.

Solution
If you stick with red to red, or black to black on the CPU and MoBo, the builds will work. However, to reuse your H80v2, you will need all the mounting hardware it came with. Not knowing what the H80 was mounted to makes it harder to know if that is an issue if you can't find those unused. mounting parts.

I haven't plugged the parts into PCPartPicker.com yet as to see pricing and availability, plus any compatibility issues that I don't see, but it is also a good place to tweak the build for better price/performance ratios within your budget to offer any alternatives. (Country the parts are being purchased in makes a difference with budgeting too.)

Thanks for the quick response and good information. I'll definitely be considering your view on the H80i v2. I'm not worried about the parts per say as I have the original packaging and its spare content in my attic somewhere. I never throw away boxes unless I'm throwing away the product itself. ^^ Thank god for good habits. But thanks again.
